Lille vs Bordeaux
French Ligue 1
Date: Saturday, 25th February, 2017
Kick off at 19:00 UK Time
Venue: Stade Pierre-Mauroy, Lille.
New coach Franck Passi got his first win last weekend as Lille beat Caen 1-0 in what was a tricky tie to navigate for the relegation threatened side. That win pushed Lille up to 14th place but they are still two points from the drop zone and will know they will have to push on. The recent victory stopped a 3 game rot.
The biggest problem for Lille is goals where they have scored just 15 at home all season, only three other teams have a worse record. Lille has not won at home since last December when they beat Montpellier and have scored just 3 goals since.
Bordeaux have got some solid wins recently and they do know how to score, a 4-0 win over Caen and a 3-0 victory over Guingamp providing us with enough evidence. Indeed their recent form has been very encouraging; we should forget the 3-0 loss over PSG, as Bordeaux clearly are not in their class.
They have lost just once in their previous five away games and have been defeated on the road just 3 times this season meaning they are the 4th best away side in Ligue 1.
Lille vs Bordeaux: Head-to-Head Stats
The last 10 games either home or away have seen a 70% chance for fewer than 3 goals. Bordeaux have failed to win here in 4 games with 3 victories for Lille and one draw which was the last played here which ended 0-0.
Lille vs Bordeaux: Predictions
This is the hardest game this week to predict in Ligue 1. Bordeaux’s form should see them brushing Lille aside, and yet it’s easy to feel that Lille could be in a good place with Passi in charge and a win behind them and they are at home. We will look into some markets which should give us value.
