Levante vs Malaga
Spain – La Liga
Date: Sunday, 19 April 2018
Kick-Off at 20:30 UK
Venue: Estadio Ciudad de Valencia (Valencia)
Levante host Malaga for their bottom-of-the-table clash on Thursday evening looking to outclass the struggling rivals and return to the winning ways after a 3-0 loss at Atletico Madrid. They’ve seen their five-game unbeaten streak ended in Madrid but we don’t believe they’ll be distraught as Paco Lopez’s men rather care about top-flight survival with a very tough schedule to follow – including clashes against Bilbao, Sevilla, Barcelona, and Celta Vigo.
Bagging the points here could thus be essential for Granotas and with wins over Eibar and Las Palmas now behind them, we do believe they’re in fine form – at least in front of the home crowd. Levante have been regularly conceding goals too and this could be more worrying, but the visitors have been far from impressive and should not be the same sort of a challenge.
Indeed, Malaga come into the match after seeing out four losses and just one draw in last five trips, seeing a thriller 3-2 loss at Deportivo La Coruna early in April. Failing to bounce back in a 1-2 loss to Real Madrid despite a solid challenge at home, it does seem Boquerones are far from their best and we don’t see them snatching anything at Estadio Ciudad de Valencia.
Levante vs Malaga: Head-to-head
Malaga have held the rivals to a goalless draw in front of the home crowd earlier this term.
Levante have last beaten Malaga back in February 2015 (4-1) and saw two losses in three games since then
Boquerones have better overall records with ten wins, two draws, and six losses seen in 18 games.
