Die Roten Bullen are looking to end their winless run when they welcome hopeless Werder Bremen at Red Bull Arena in Saturday’s Bundesliga clash.
RB Leipzig vs Werder Bremen: Match Preview
After a nervy first half, the Red Bulls came flying in much improved after the break and more than deservedly claimed a point away to league leaders and Bundesliga despots Bayern München.
They may have come better off from Munich battle but the Bavarians still hold the lead in the war as they kept Leipzig off the top, with one point dividing the two.
Julian Nagelsmann wants his men to end their three game winless (four, if we count in the Pokal) and there won’t be a better chance to do so than against one of the weakest, shot on confidence team of the league, at home, where the Bulls have often did well, winning six, drawing three and losing only to Schalke back in September.
It was another disappointing and borderline depressing Bundesliga weekend for Werder fans, as Florian Kohfeldt’s men were beaten 2-0 at home by surprise hit of the season 1. FC Union Berlin.
With nine defeats from last eleven outings, Die Werderaner are barely holding off Paderborn at 17th, but with everyone around them picking up points lately, their quest for survival will be a tough one; Mainz increased their advantage to four points and looking at Werder’s schedule, in might continue to do so in the coming weeks.
Out in the world, Kohfeldt’s pupils doesn’t do as bad, with two latest wins (and last six points collected) were all away from Weserstadion; they were close at Augsburg too but couldn’t hold onto the lead.
Usual suspects in Leipzig’s emergency room as Kevin Kampl, Willi Orban, Ibrahima Konaté and (most likely) Luan Cândido all out for Werder skirmish.
Werder’s injury list is almost as long as their losing run; Jiri Pavlenka, Sebastian Langkamp, Philipp Bargfrede, Niclas Füllkrug and Kevin Möhwald are all on it, with Michael Lang, Ludwig Augustinsson and Theodor Gebre Selassie listed as probable. Davie Selke has one more game to sit out due to suspension.

RB Leipzig vs Werder Bremen Berlin: Prediction
Despite their recent stumbles, there’s no world in our vast multiverse where Werder is getting anything from this game. Boring victory by the favorites, all resolved early on.
With loads of goals scored. Even when they haven’t won, RBL easily went over 3.5 margin; they did so in last six Red Bull Arena appearances and against vulnerable defense such as Werder’s, Nagelsmann’s pupils will make it seven.
