Leicester City vs Fulham
English Premier League
Date: Saturday, 9 March 2019
Kick-Off at 15:00 UK / 16:00 CET
Venue: King Power Stadium (Leicester).
Fulham finally offered something to their fans last weekend, but still got away from the Chelsea tie empty handed. The Cottagers were the superior side on the pitch in the second half of the affair against sixth-placed Blues, but could not find the much-needed equalizer on the occasion.
It was an encouraging debut on the bench for interim manager Scott Parker, though. Can the Cottagers build on such fine display to try and avoid a defeat on Saturday afternoon against Leicester City away at King Power Stadium? Looking at their form in 2019, we have to say it is a massive longshot for them.
Fulham were just not pulling up any trees recently. Thy lost nine of last ten league outings and are as many as ten points short of the safe zone going into this tie with mid-table Foxes.
Leicester City vs Fulham: Head-to-head
Fulham could rely on the head to head tradition here as they lead the tie by ten wins ahead of 28th encounter with Leicester City.
The Cottagers won four, drew two and lost one of past seven meetings with the Foxes.
Teams shared spoils in a 1-1 draw when they came across each other in the first half of the season in early-December at Craven Cottage.
It is interesting to note that all of past five head to head affairs saw goals scored at both ends.
Leicester City vs Fulham: Prediction
Leicester City are also miles away from their best form at the moment. They won just one of last nine games in all competitions, but the victory came just in their previous home outing against Brighton & Hobe Albion (2-1).
Much like their counterparts, the hosts have new manager in the like of former Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers. He saw a 2-1 defeat in his debut on Sunday against Watford away at Vicarage Road Stadium. Leicester’s main problems are concerned with the lack of meticulousness in their defensive line which allowed at least a goal in each of past nine matches.
Fulham have by far the worst defensive record in the entire division, but we expect them to find the back of the net as well here following a fine overall display in the final third against Chelsea six days ago. Jamie Vardy scored a goal in each of last two appearances for Leicester City and we fancy the continuation of his fine form against such poor defensive outfit.
