Leeds United vs Norwich City
Date: Saturday, 2 February 2019
Kick-Off at 17:30 UK / 18:30 CET
Venue: Elland Road (Leeds).
Top two sides of English Championship take on each other in a mouth-watering derby of the Matchday on Saturday evening at Elland Road.
The automatic promotion might be at stake as a win here would push Leeds six points clear off their main title challengers. Grabbing one will, however, be a big challenge for Marcelo Bielsa and his men, especially if we know their form has seen a massive slide in recent weeks.
The Peacocks lost three of past five league affairs. They managed to return to winning ways last weekend, but it was far from a strong performance as the team needed a late second-half winner from Mateusz Klich to secure a comeback against relegation strugglers Rotherham United.
Polish midfielder was the hero as he bagged a brace on the occasion to help Leeds increase the to three points gap at the top of the ladder.
Leeds United vs Norwich City: Head-to-head
Leeds can rely on the head to head tradition here as they lead the tie by six wins coming into 43rd encounter with the Canaries.
The Peacocks hardly dropped points in home matches against Norwich City over the course of history.
Leeds United won 11, drew 7 and lost only 3 of 20 home outings against the Canaries.
The Peacocks claimed a demolishing 0-3 victory at Carrow Road when teams met each other in this term of Championship.
Leeds United vs Norwich City: Prediction
Luckily for Bielsa, Norwich City have been far from their best form of late as well. The Canaries were too easy to break down as the lack of meticulousness at the back caused a poor streak which saw them win just one of last seven matches in all competitions. Norwich City conceded at least a goal in all of past seven outings and we can hardly see them keep things tight at the back against table-toppers on the road.
However, Norwich have a strong firepower on display at the other end. The most lethal of all weapons is Finnish talisman Teemu Pukki who is league’s third top scorer with 17 to his name so far in the season. As Leeds also conceded at least a goal in seven of last eight games in all competitions, the BTTS bet is just the way to go here.
