Leeds United vs Fulham
English Premier League
Date: Saturday, 19 September 2020
Kick-off at 15:00 UK/ 16:00 CET
Venue: Elland Road.
The Peacocks gave the reigning champions a scare the last match-day in the opener. Guided by the legendary Marcelo Bielsa, the team took on the seemingly unstoppable Reds, and that too at the Anfield.
Bielsa’s men did ultimately lose the game, but it was down to the wire, and the winner had come in the form of a penalty by Mohammed Salah.
Suffice it to say that great things are expected from the Peacocks this season.
They are pitted against a fellow recently-promoted club this weekend, and after facing off with Liverpool, this will be a massive relief.
The Cottagers were a part of the PL in 2018-19, at the end of which they were given the boot. However, after their relegation, they managed to climb back to the top flight in just one season.
Despite this experience though, they are considered to be amongst the weakest of the lot in the PL, while Bielsa’s men just might be the black horses of this campaign.
As such, expect a great showing from Leeds this Saturday at the Elland Road.

- In the past 15 years, only thrice have they lost against this opponent.

- The visitors have not also scored a single goal at this ground since 2016.
Leeds vs Fulham: Prediction
Bielsa’s men lost 4-3 at the Anfield the last match-day, against Liverpool. In one of the most entertaining games of the weekend, the newly promoted club gave the defending champions a run for their money.
Meanwhile, the Cottagers lost 0-3 at home the past game week, against Arsenal.
As things stand, the Peacocks have the upper hand. They are the current title-holders of the Championship, from where both these teams come, and they had won the crown with a ten-point lead at the top.
They are also a side that gives predominant significance to attack, which was in full display against Liverpool.
Moreover, Scott Parker’s men had lost 3-0 the last time these two met, and that was just two months back. In addition, the Cottagers have an inferior h2h record over the years against this opponent, and especially so at this venue.
Likely, expect the in-form Leeds to record their first win in the PL in over 16 years, this Saturday.
