Leeds vs Burton
2017/18 EFL Championship
Date: Saturday, 9th September 2017
Kick off at 15:00 UK/16:00 CET
Venue: Elland Road.
Burton travels to one of the hardest stadium to play in Championship – Elland Road. Leeds made the stadium looking like a fortress last season.
Leeds took another 3 points last round. The team took a comfortable 0-2 victory at The City Ground against local Nottingham. Roofe and Alioski were the goalscorers in the 24th and 87th minutes respectively.
Burton took a somewhat surprising point last round against Sheffield Wednesday. Gary Hooper gave the visitors the lead after 36 minutes. Substitute Joe Mason than got his name on the score sheet to level the score seconds after coming from the bench. Sheffield tried to get something more out of the game but Burton stood firm and denied them.
Form and Tactical Analysis
Things are looking well for Leeds so far. 11 points won already and 3rd place in the table gives some confidence to the team. They haven’t lost a game yet and considering they are playing at home next round against bottom table team the run may continue. The impressive thing in this team again is their defensive line which has already won 4 clean sheets. Lees conceded only in the opening game against Bolton followed by 4 straight clean sheets.
The team operates in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Saiz, Pablo Henrnandez and Alioski are the main attacking outlets in midfield while the striker place used to be reserved for Chris Wood who now plays in the Premier League. In his absence Leeds operated with a fals 9 up front with lots of rotation and it will be interesting to see how new signing Cibicki will fair in his new team.
Burton similarly to last year will be involved in relegation battle. The team has 4 points currently and sits on 21st place. Although it is rather early in the season Burton are showing some worrying signs. They are letting easy goals past their keeper which may cost them big in the long run. On the positive the team bounced back after 3 straight defeats at the start of the season defeating Birmingham and drawing against Wednesday.
Burton tries mixed approach in every game according to their opponent. The team was seen in several different formations and we can only guess what they will use next.

Leeds vs Burton: Prediction
Leeds are looking in form currently. The team plays with confidence and only the lack of goals in their home games is separating them from the first place. Against Burtons troubled defensive line though may be the perfect time to net a few in front of home crowd.
