Lecce vs Bologna: Prediction
The Salentini’s three-game unbeaten run came to end as they got smashed 0-3 by their old rivals from Serie B, Brescia. I was counting on them to fight back after fourteen goals scored in last nine Serie A matches, but Babacar, Falco and La Mantia clearly had an off day.
With the win-draw-lose record of 3-6-7, Lecce are 15th in the standings, two points above the drop and they will be hoping to land their first home victory of the season on Sunday.
Fabio Liverani’s side have recorded four draws and three defeats at Via Del Mare, netting 1.14 goals per match and shipping 1.86 in return.
Meccariello, Dumancic, Fiamozzi, Mancosu and Majer are on the treatment table, Imbula are questionable and journeyman striker Lapadula is suspended for this one.
The Veltri have been in decent form of late, having earned seven points from their previous four league outings. They bounced back from a 2-3 defeat to AC Milan with a clinical performance against Papu-less Atalanta (2-1).
With 19 points to their name, Bologna are 12th on the ladder, levelled with Sassuolo and they will be looking to record back-to-back wins for the first time since September.
The visiting side have logged two wins, two draws and four defeats away from home, averaging 1.38 goals score per match, whilst conceding 1.75. They’ve beaten Napoli 2-1 in their latest away fixture.
Sinisa Mihajlovic won’t be able to count on injured Dijks and Krejci, Dzemaili will be evaluated before the game and veteran defender Danilo is banned.
This should be an entertaining game with goals on both ends, and that will be my main bet here.
Bologna played out 10 BTTS – Yes matches on the trot and both teams have scored in four of the last five Salentini’s games at this venue.
As for my second pick, I will follow my 1-1, 2-2 hunch and pick a draw at full time. Lecce are on a four-game drawing streak at home and Veltri’s games are usually super tight.
