LASK host Vojvodina in the return fixture of the UEFA Europa Conference League third qualifying round tie on Thursday evening at Worthersee Stadion.
LASK got the much-wanted breakthrough in this tie thanks to midfielder Peter Michol whose 70th –minute strike made all the difference between them and Vojvodina seven days ago in Serbia.
LASK were a much better team on the pitch in the first leg in general. They controlled the happenings from the get-go. Their dominance was most notable in the corners stats as Dominik Thalhammer’s troops took as many as 13 corners on the occasion (Vojvodina had just 1).
LASK are also unbeaten after three rounds of the new Austrian Bundesliga campaign. They’ve conceded just two goals in these three outings.
If we add a clean sheet in their maiden European game against Vojvodina, it is a respectable spell of defensive form for Thalhammer and his squad.
Knowing that Vojvodina have not been very impressive in the final third at the beginning of the new season, we would not be surprised to see the Austrians keeping yet another clean sheet here.
Vojvodina are still getting used to life without their long-term manager Nenad Lalatovic. They grabbed the first win of the season in Serbian Superliga by beating Vozdovac 2-0 on Sunday.
They’ve previously taken one point from super-tough clashes against Red Star Belgrade (a 0-0 draw) and Partizan Belgrade (a 0-2 defeat) in the opening two rounds.

Both LASK and Vojvodina have been much better defensively at the beginning of the new season. The Serbian outfit conceded only two goals in the opening three matches of the new domestic campaign despite already playing the likes of Red Star and Partizan Belgrade in the process.
LASK have also shipped no more than two goals in their three inaugural outings of the new Bundesliga season. We’d not be surprised to see another clean-sheet victory in a low-scoring contest for LASK here.
