South Korea vs Bolivia
Date: Friday, 22 March 2019
Kick-Off at 11:00 UK / 12:00 CET
Venue: Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium (Ulsan).
Korea Republic will play two South American rivals during this international break. Friday’s clash against Bolivia will be their first action since the quarter-final exit at the recent Asian Cup. Taegeuk Warriors enjoyed a stellar group stage campaign with three clean sheet wins, but they just could not find the way past a stern defensive line of latter champions Qatar in the quarter-final (a 0-1 loss).
Paulo Bento now has an opportunity for a brand new start with this set of March friendlies. The Portuguese manager will have a very strong line-up on disposal here as he called-up Tottenham Hotspur’s star Son Heung-min as well as important Holstein Kiel’s midfielder Lee Jae-sung and Augsburg’s forward Ji Dong-won.
South Korea vs Bolivia: Head-to-head
The two teams met each other nine months ago in a friendly which saw a goalless draw.
There were no goals in their first ever head to head encounter played back at the 1994 World Cup.
Will any of these two teams finally score a goal in their third head to head meeting?
South Korea vs Bolivia: Prediction
Bolivia were on a poor streak of results in friendlies in late 2019 when they found the back of the net just once in three games against Iran, UAE and Iraq. They decided to make a managerial change coming into the New Year as Eduardo Villegas took charge in February. He made a debut on the bench in a 2-2 draw to Nicaragua three weeks ago.
La Verde have a much weaker squad than Korea Republic who should be clear favourites to claim the victory in front of the home crowd at Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium. We can hardly see the visitors on the scoreline against a well-organized defensive line of Korea Republic’s here. The home win is our main betting option, while you can alternatively back the Under 2.5 goals FT bet at the odds of 1.75.
