Kilmarnock vs Motherwell
Scottish Premiership
Date: Wednesday, 10 February 2021
Kick-Off at 18.00 UK
Venue: BBSP Stadium Rugby Park.

Kilmarnock are not pulling up any trees at the start of the year. They are the most out-of-form team in the entire division after losing five consecutive Premiership matches.

Such a dreadful streak has brought them down to the 10th position in a 12-team league. They are just four points above the rock-bottomed Hamilton Academical who have a game in hand on them.

As a consequence of such a horrible run, Killie decided to part ways with Alex Dyer in late-January. His former assistant Andy Miller was appointed as an interim manager, but Killie lost two out of two without scoring a single goal with him under the helm.

Kilmarnock have shipped at least two goals in each of the last five league matches and they have failed to find the back of the net in four of them.

Kilmarnock vs Motherwell Head-to-head

  • Motherwell lead the head to head tie by two wins ahead of the 92nd encounter with Killie.
  • However, Kilmarnock clinched a 0-2 victory when the two sides last met each other in late-December last year at Fir Park.
  • Just one of the last five head to head games between these two outfits saw three or more goals scored.

Kilmarnock vs Motherwell Prediction

Motherwell have also made a managerial change this year. They hired Graham Alexander in January.

The new manager has done well in shifting the team’s fortunes around lately as the Well picked up two wins in the last three league matches. The run has helped them overtake Killie in the bottom half of the league standings.

The Well saw off Ross County and Dundee United before losing narrowly at Celtic last weekend. Interestingly, each of the three matches during the process ended with the same 2-1 scoreline.

The visitors are massive form favourites going into the tie. After all, it is not tough to have such a role against a team that has lost five on the spin in the competition.

Motherwell are well worth backing not to lose at the 1.50 odds, while the braver punters can try with the away win at 2.70.

Since this has traditionally been a low-scoring tie, we will also go with the Under 2.5 goals FT pick at the 1.72 odds.
