Juventus vs Udinese
Italian Serie A.
Date: Sunday, 11 March 2018
Kick-Off: 14:00 UK,
Venue: Allianz Stadium (Turin).
Following an impressive fightback against Tottenham, Juventus turn their attention back to domestic affairs as they take on Udinese on Sunday afternoon in Serie A.
The Bianconeri finally overcame their English hoodoo as they overcame a 1-0 deficit to beat Spurs 2-1 on the night and 4-3 on aggregate to book their spot in the Champions League quarter-finals. Many had expected them to be dumped out of the competition following how they had thrown away a 2-0 lead in Turin to settle for a 2-2 draw, but Massimiliano Allegri’s men again showed that they should not be underestimated in the continent’s premier competition and are still on course for a Treble this season.
With Napoli slipping up against Roma last weekend, and Juventus beating Lazio, the gap has now narrowed to just one point. In addition, La Vecchia Signora still have a game in hand against Atalanta due to having featured in the Coppa Italia against La Dea last week, so the Partenopei are obviously growing even more nervous – especially as they face a tough test against Inter this Sunday.
By contrast, their upcoming opponent in this “all-Bianconeri” derby, Udinese, has been in a funk as of late. The Zebrette were due to play Fiorentina last weekend, but had their game called off following Davide Astori’s sudden and unexpected death, but Massimo Oddo’s side were facing other issues prior to the events of last round. They come into this game having lost their last three games and any hopes of making a late push for a Europa League spot have long faded. At this point, it seems like they have settled in for a spot somewhere in mid-table, which is not a bad return overall.
Juventus vs Udinese: Head-to-head statistics

- Before losing to Lazio this season, Udinese were the last team to beat Juventus in Turin (1-0 in August 2015)
- Udinese have lost their last 3 matches
- Juventus have kept a clean sheet in their last 7 matches
- Udinese have conceded at least 2 goals in their last 3 matches
- Juventus have won 35 of their last 38 home matches
Juventus vs Udinese: Prediction
Juventus are the only team to have won all their league games in 2018 (a perfect seven out of seven) and are still the only team yet to have concede in Serie A this year. Domestically, they have won ten straight games without conceding, and have kept a clean sheet in 16 out of their last 17 games in Serie A and in the Coppa Italia. It’s hard to see Udinese getting anything out of this game here, despite their surprise win here in Turin back in August 2015.
