Juventus vs Genoa
Italian Serie A.
Date: Saturday 20 October 2018
Kick-Off: 17:00 UK,
Venue: Allianz Stadium (Turin).
Eight wins out of eight have Juventus cruising along and leaving others in their wake ahead of their showdown with Genoa this Saturday. Can the Bianconeri make it a record-breaking nine straight opening league wins ahead of their Champions League match against Manchester United?
If one includes the Champions League, Juventus have won all ten of their games across all competitions this season. No other team in any of Europe’s “Big 5” leagues have achieved that feat, and that fact alone arguably makes Massimiliano Allegri’s side one of the strongest teams in Europe so far this term.
Genoa will be heavily relying on their Polish striker Krzysztof Piatek yet again, as he has raced to the top of the Serie A scoring charts with nine goals in just eight matches. Impressively, he ranks ahead of big scoring names like Cristiano Ronaldo as well as experienced Serie A hitmen like Edin Dzeko, Mauro Icardi, Gonzalo Higuain, and Ciro Immobile. However, Genoa now have a new coach – with Ivan Juric coming back into the fold despite Davide Ballardini’s strong start and Juventus have won all but one of their last 14 home games in the league.
To complicate things further, Juventus have a perfect record as of late against Genoa – especially when it comes to playing against the Grifone at home. Their last five games in Turin have earned them five straight wins all without conceding, and they will hope to make it a sixth straight win ahead of their European match in a few days’ time next week.
Juventus vs Genoa: Head-to-head statistics

Juventus vs Genoa: Prediction
Juventus have not fired blanks against Genoa at home since January 1991 and it’s hard to see them slipping up here. Piatek, of course, will hope to continue his hot streak. But he will be up against one of the strongest defenses in Europe and it will be an interesting match – pitting the player who’s scored in every game against the team who has won every game.
The Bianconeri surely will come out on top here, but will they be able to keep a clean sheet?
