Juventus have shown strong interest in luring Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera to Turin.
Sources revealed that Juventus boss Massimo Allegri scouted the talented player in Manchester United game against Chelsea during Christmas holidays and expects a transfer.
The Red Devils tracked Ander Herrera for over a year before securing the signature of the Spaniard from Athletic Bilbao in summer transfer of 2014 for a fee in the range of £29 million, as quoted by BBC
Nonetheless, Ander Herrera has not firmly kept his place in the United’s starting IX, as the manager Louis Van Gaal has always preferred other midfielders; Morgan Schneiderlin, Bastian Schweinstiger and Micheal Carrick.
In the last campaign, Herrera was very impressive when ever he is given the opportunity, this has made United supporters to question Louis Van Gaal’s decision of not given him enough playing time.
Last season, the Spaniard scored six goals, gave four assists and scored 89% total pass accuracy in the 26 Premier League appearances he made in 2014/15 season.
Since the arrival of Bastian Schweinstiger this season the 26-year-old playing time has been lessened, however he has still shipped in a number of goals and assists, he has scored 56% shooting accuracy in the Premier League this season.
Manchester United team are badly under-performing this season, leading to one win in their last nine games and have lost three of their last five games creating few scoring chances 160.
Ander Herrera could be looking for a way out or a fresh start elsewhere because of lack of enough playing time, and he has not made enough impact into Manchester United team this season whenever he is called upon.
He has only created 10 chances this Premier League season.
With Juventus on the call and given the caliber of young talent in their team, more especially thinking of being paired with ex United player Pogba in the midfield, i think Herrera wouldn’t hesitate to jump on the wagon if an agreement is reached by both teams.
