- Juventus cannot meet €94m asking price for Higuan
Napoli described Juventus pursuit for Gonzalo Higuan as “lost battle” after the Old Lady confirmed they cannot meet the €94m asking price for striker.
“For now the Higuain matter is closed. I can confirm that we will not pay the clause,” said Juventus president Guiseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta.
Higuan is targeted by both Juventus and Arsenal but Napoli are interesting in a club that can meet the clause.
“Marotta told me that Juventus won’t activate the €94million clause for Higuain, ” said Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis.
“Juventus are very intelligent and they understand that they cannot do this. They know perfectly well that it is a lost battle, ” he added.
Higuan netted 36 goals for Napoli to take the Golden boot last season.
