The German tactician Jurgen Klopp is delighted for Liverpool’s 4-3 stunning come back against Dortmund at Anfield on Thursday night.
Liverpool were hoping to build on their 1-1 draw in the first leg but it was close to be over after Dortmund had two quick-fire goals in first 10 minutes by Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre Aubameyang on fifth and ninth minutes respectively.
Liverpool pulled one back through Divock Origi on 48 minutes only for Marco Reus on 57 minutes to pinch the Reds back.
But with resilient spirit, Philipe Coutinho and Mohamedou Sakho on 66 and 78 minutes brought Liverpool back to the game before Dejan Lovren mounted a great history for the Reds on 90 minutes to sail his team through to Semi-finals.
And boss Jurgen Klopp was amazed for his side’s brilliant character.
“It’s difficult to explain. It was a wonderful, wonderful night. The game was strange from the beginning.
“When we brought on Joe Allen and Daniel Sturridge, we gave the message to show character.
“If we lose, we don’t care but we have to show character and okay, they did a lot more than that.
“It was brilliant. I think that’s what European football can be at its best. It was a wonderful experience and it’s hard to believe it really happened.”
Dejan Lovren who scored theich needed winning goal for Liverpool said the come back is one of the best games to reckon with.
“It’s an amazing feeling. I think it was one of the best games of the last two or three years.
“We never stopped believing in ourselves. We said at half-time we had nothing to lose, we just had to believe. It was a great effort from everyone.”
