Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has poured cold water on his side’s bid for Brazil international Alex Teixeira, keen for solution in the transfer market.
Series of injuries have ruled out strikers such as Divock Origi, Daniel Sturridge and Dani Ings from Klopp’s team.
A possible redemption is highly expected by the Reds which recent widespread media speculations having linked striker Alex Teixeira who plies his trade for Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk bearing 22 goals in 15 league appearances to his name this season.
But when manager Jurgen Klopp was asked about the deal he said : “No. I have nothing to say about this.”
“We could talk about a lot of players in the world if we had time for this and what qualities they have but there is nothing to say in this moment.”
Klopp disclosed that Liverpool are still searching in the market for a possible solution to revamp their squad.
“If we find a solution which fits for both transfer windows, winter and summer, and a player could help us as quickly as possible then of course we would try.
“I have always said we will watch the market and we will see if something happens, there are a few days to go.
“If there is a good player and we see a longer option with time to work together and not only for three games and then all the others come back then we would think about it.”
Liverpool will hope to bounce back from their 1-0 lost to Man United last weekend as they play away to Norwich City in an early kick-off on Saturday.
