Manchester United could lose their prime managerial candidate to replace Van Gaal, as Jose Mourinho is set to meet the Inter Milan co-owner Massimo Moratti this weekend.
Earlier rumours also suggest that United are looking to name Jose Mourinho as their new manager before the crucial Premier League clash against Arsenal. Now it appears to be imminent that the Old Trafford outfit must act quickly or else they might end up losing the Portuguese tactician to the Serie A giants.
There is not much embarrassment for a Manchester United as they watched their team crumbled to a 2-1 defeat to pretty unknown Danish side Midtjylland in the Europa league knock-out stages. We have found a lot of football enthusiasts have taken to Google to find out more about the club, which was found just a decade ago.
Under Louis Van Gaal, the Red Devils are in their worst ever run in English Premier League and are at the risk of losing a place in next year’s Champions League. The boring style of football and the bad relation of the Dutchman with the press have not gone well with most of the United’s fans.
Jose Mourinho and Moratti have a good working relationship and the latter is keen to bring back the coach that won Inter the treble in his only season in charge at San Siro. Inter Milan are currently 5th in the Serie A and they are keen to replace Roberto Mancini, if the team fails to qualify for Champions League next season.
This is also a sign that Mourinho is pushing his move to Old Trafford by accepting the invitation of his former employers, as he is losing patience with United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.
