Juan Mata and Jose Mourinho’s long standing feud is about to be awakened as rumors going on suggest that the Portuguese sees Mata as a surplus to requirement at Old Trafford if he is appointed as the manager.
The Ex Chelsea boss is among the front runners to replace the under pressure manager Louis Van Gaal at the helm of affairs at Old Trafford, and according to Daily Mirror, the Portuguese has already agreed a three-year deal worth £15 million per season.
Daily Mail has made some suggestions saying that the former Chelsea Boss wants a major overhaul at Manchester United as he prepares to sell Mata and Fellaini to other interested clubs.
The reports also claims that Mourinho had a meeting with the Ed Woodward to deliberate on the squad reshuffling issues and has proposed for the duo to be sold before he arrives at the club.
Mata was sold to United form Chelsea by Jose Mourinho in january 2014 for £37million as reported, he does not fit into the Portuguese vision.
Mata seemed to have improved in his performance this season as he has created more chances (36) than any of his team mates in the league.
Mata has scored four goals in his 25 league appearance for the club this season
While Fellaini who came from Everton in the summer of 2013 during David Moyes’ era could also be on his way out of United if the board decides to replace Louis Van Gaal with Jose Mourinho.
Fellaini has been underperforming since his arrival at Old Trafford and has failed to stamp his mark in the starting IX, the Belgian has only completed full 90 mins in five league matches the campaign.
