Kick-Off at 10:30 UK / 11:30 CET
Venue: NOEVIR Stadium (Kobe).

Japan produced a decent display in a narrow 0-1 defeat to South American heavyweights Colombia on Friday. Samurai Blue were better side on the pitch throughout 90 minutes of play and they certainly deserved more than a loss on the day. Hajime Moriyasu’s troops will have a chance to rebound on Tuesday when they play host to a much easier CONMEBOL opposition in the likes of Bolivia.

Samurai Blue are thus looking to return to winning ways after two straight losses (the 1-3 defeat to Qatar in the Asian Cup final). A result here would be of a big importance confidence wise for the hosts who will feature Copa America as a guest nation this summer.

Japan vs Bolivia: Head-to-head

These two sides played each other in a group phase match at Copa America 1999 when they shared spoils in a 1-1 draw.

It was their only head to head meeting so far in the history.

Japan vs Bolivia: Prediction

Bolivia were also in action on Friday and they also lost 1-0 in a friendly against Korea Republic away in Ulsan. La Verde thus made it five straight games without a win in friendly games. It is a rather dismal thread if we know they’ve faced the likes of Iran, UAE, Iraq, Nicaragua and Korea Republic in the process.

The head coach Eduardo Villegas has a modest group of players on disposal in his ranks. All Bolivians play in their domestic league except for midfielder Alejandro Chumacero and center-back Luis Haquin who both play for Mexican Puebla.

Bolivians have huge problems with the lack of efficiency in the final third and we doubt they will do much to hurt Japanese defensive line which offered a generally fine showing on Friday against Radamel Falcao, Luis Muriel, Duvan Zapata & company in Colombian shirt.

The hosts are much closer to snatch the win here.
