Jamaica vs El Salvador
2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup
Date: Sunday, 16th July 2017
Kick-off at 23:00 UK
Venue: Alamodome (San Antonio).
Jamaica salvaged a valuable point by holding Mexico to a goal-less draw in their second group game. Having defeated Curacao 2-0 in the group opener, the Reggae Boyz moved into a commanding position to qualify for the quarter finals.
Meanwhile, El Salvador got out of jail in their second group game, courtesy of two quick goals around the half-hour mark. However, things could have taken a u-turn, if Curacao had not missed a penalty just before the half-time whistle. The La Selecta were beaten 3-1 by Mexico in their first match.
The results of matchday 2 had opened up the Group C of Gold Cup 2017 into an interesting proposition. Now, there are three teams fighting for the top two spots on matchday three. Mexico are at the top of the table on 4 points, same as Jamaica on second. Meanwhile, the third placed El Salvador are just a point behind. So, any of the three teams can finish are groups winners. The debutantes Curacao, who lost their two group games are virtually eliminated, despite having a mathematical chance of qualifying for the next round.

The Reggae Boyz are unbeaten in their last 8 meetings with El Salvador. There has been 8 wins and 2 draws during the period and kept an incredible 7 clean sheets.

Jamaica vs El Salvador: Prediction
This is Jamaica’s game to lose after having done brilliantly in the previous two fixtures. They do have the psychological advantage of having dominated El Salvador over the past two decades. Moreover, El Salvador have a poor record against stronger teams, so it is hard to see them troubling the Jamaican defense.
