Israel vs Romania: Preview and Predictions

Israel vs Romania
International Friendlies
Date: Saturday, 24 March 2018
Kick-Off at 18:00 UK
Venue: Winner Stadium (Netanya).

Both Israel and Romania are hoping to make a brand new start and prepare themselves for the upcoming challenges at EURO 2020 Qualifications and UEFA Nations League. Neither of the two sides has been anywhere near the top two spots in their respective WC Qualification groups, but the mentioned new set of qualifiers should allow them to at least be competitive and dream of making their way towards a major competition.

Whilst Israel have not been in action at all since the last qualifier, Romania did play two friendlies in November last year. Cosmin Contra’s side had a semi success clinching a 2-0 victory over Turkey before falling 0-3 to Netherlands. Romanian strikers were far beyond their level in the recently finished WC Qualification campaign as no player has managed to score more than two goals in ten matches of the process. The most prominent names when speaking of Romania’s attack are certainly Claudiu Keseru and Florin Andone who are expected to lead the front line in this clash at Winner Stadium.

The hosts do have a true predator in the final third in the like of Tomer Hemed who has bagged three goals in the qualifying campaign. Nonetheless, Hemed has not been enjoying his best form in Brighton & Hove Albion in this term of the Premier League (only two goals scored so far in the season). The man worth paying attention is Munas Dabbour who has bagged an impressive 16-goal tally for Austrian champions Salzburg.

Israel vs Romania: Head-to-head

Teams have four wins apiece coming into their landmark 10th head to head encounter.

None of last five H2H meetings saw both sides on the scoreline.

Israel will head into this off the back of four consecutive clean sheet wins in matches against Romania.

Israel vs Romania: Prediction

Since neither of the two sides has been impressive in the final third lately, backing a low-scoring contest might just seem to be the way to go.

Apart from the Under 2.5 goals FT bet, we will chase the draw at 3.20.
