Inter Milan vs Hellas Verona: Prediction
Inter Milan are back in Serie A action after heartbreaking loss in Germany – the Nerazzurri went from 2-0 up at half-time to lose 3-2 to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.
They remained 2nd in the Serie A standings as they recorded 2-1 win over Bologna last week. After four clean sheets from first five games, their otherwise stellar defence went on to concede ten goals in next six league outings.
D’Ambrosio, Sanchez, Asamoah, Politano and Gagliardini are on the treatment table.
The Scaligers have moved up in the standings following a 2-1 win over fellow-newcomers Brescia. In their second win a row, third in last five Serie A games, one of the strikers actually showed up – and it was a teenager, Eddy Salcedo, Genoa trainee, who broke the deadlock shortly after the break and eased things. With four wins, three draws and four losses, Hellas Verona are sitting at 9th position in the standings.
Badu, Kumbulla, Bessa, Bocchetti are long-term absentees for the guests.
The Nerazzurri have 3-1-1 record at San Siro. They drew 2-2 vs Parma in their latest outing at this venue. Inter have an average of 1.80 goals scored per game in their own backyard, whilst allowing 0.80 goals per bout.
The visitors have claimed seven points on the road this season. Hellas Verona have beaten Parma 1-0 at Ennio Tardini in their latest away fixture. The Scaligers are netting 0.80 goals per match and conceding one per tie.
Antonio Conte’s team should have enough in the tank to overcome tricky Verona side on Saturday, but odds are just silly, so I’ll add BTTS – Yes to that – the Scaligers performed well against Juventus and Napoli on the road.
With Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez (14 goals combined) in attack, Inter should score at least two here.
I’m going to back the Belgian to score anytime against Verona’s low block.
