Inter Milan vs Udinese
Italy – Serie A
Date: Saturday, 14 September 2019
Kick-off at 19:45 UK / 20:45 CET
Venue: Stadio Giuseppe Meazza (Milan).

Inter are sitting at the top of Serie A with two wins out of two games and +5 goal difference. After crushing Lecce 4-0 in the season opener, they went on to beat Cagliari 2-1 on the road, thanks to Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku, who got his second goal of the season. Now they’re back at home and set to play Udinese on Saturday.

Nerazzurri’s squad is at full strength with no injuries or suspensions to speak of and we should see Diego Godin in the starting XI instead of Ranocchia and Alexis Sanchez might get the nod ahead of Martinez.

‘Le Zebrette’ failed to join the top three teams with 100 per cent record as they fell to 1-3 home defeat to Parma in the second round. The ‘Gialloblu’ are their bogey team ever since they came back to the top flight. Udinese had more of the game, took 17 shots, created 11 goal-scoring chances, but only netted one, whilst Parma had three shots on target and every single one went in.

They won a battle off the pitch, though, as they kept Rodrigo De Paul who was heavily linked with Fiorentina and Napoli.

Inter Milan vs Udinese: Head to Head

  • Overall stats: Inter 28 wins, Udinese 14 wins, 11 draws.
  • Eight of the last ten matches between these teams had over 2.5 goals.
  • Inter kept clean sheet in last three outings against Udine-based team.
  • Four of the last five Nerazurri’s victories over Udinese came with -1.5 handicap.

Inter Milan vs Udinese: Predicted Starting Lineups

Inter (3-5-2): Handanovic – De Vrij, Godin, Skriniar – Asamoah, Candreva, Barella, Sensi, Brozovic – Sanchez, Lukaku.

Udinese (3-5-1-1): Musso – Samir, Becao, Troost-Ekong – Sema, Larsen, Mandragora, Fofana, Jajalo – De Paul – Lasagna.

Inter Milan vs Udinese: Prediction

I’ll back the hosts to win with at least two goals margin and keep a clean sheet, just like they did against Lecce in Round One.

With Samir Handanovic between the posts and Diego Godin, Milan Skriniar and Stefan De Vrij as back three, ‘Zebrette’ will struggle to score and I’m counting on Inter’s attacking department to extend their winning streak and keep the momentum going.
