Inter Milan vs SPAL: Prediction
After routinely dismantling Torino in the last round, Antonio Conte’s soldiers are after their fifth league victory in a row. Spirits are high in the locker room following an away win in Prague and keeping their Champions League dream alive.
The Nerazzurri, second-placed at Serie A table with a more than impressive record of 11 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss will look forward to proving their class against the struggling Gli Spalini and keeping their 100% record at home against them intact.
Internazionale played six games at home, winning four, drawing and losing once with 11:5 goal difference, averaging 1.83 goals scored and 0.83 conceded. Their last home game was 2-1 comeback victory against Hellas Verona.
Antonio Conte will have to mix it up a bit, since Sensi, Barella and Asamoah joined already injured Alexis Sanchez and Politano in the emergency room. Everyone else is available.
Poor SPAL seems like they just can’t catch a break. After playing against three fellow relegation strugglers in a row, they have nothing to show for. Petagna missed a possibly game-winning penalty against Udinese. They were on the verge of getting all three points against Genoa but Sturaro of all people scored to secure road point for the Rossoblu’s. Inter will be a Mission Impossible, as it stands.
Semplicci’s men are currently second-to-last in Serie A. Two wins, three draws and an abysmal eight defeats. And things aren’t looking any better ahead of this game.
Missiroli is suspended for this duel, Fares, D’Alessandro and Di Francesco are long-term absentees. Bunch of players will go down the wire, as they aren’t currently 100% fit to play. Tomovic, Felipe, Murgia, Valoti , Floccari and Paloschi are among them.
SPAL are the worst team on the road in Serie A. Not a single win, one draw and five defeats. Nine goals conceded and they’re yet to score.
I think we can all agree this will be a boring victory by the favorites.
Lautaro and Lukaku are firing at all cylinders and Gli Spalini can’t dream of containing them. My recommendation is an Asian Handicap -1.5. It’s a nice, safe bet and Lautaro & Co. will most likely deliver, all things considered.
If you’re feeling lucky, put a few bucks on SPAL to score. Inter conceded a goal in last three home encounters and while I consider this highly unlikely, weirder things have happened.
