Ingolstadt vs Bochum
Germany – 2 Bundesliga
Date: Monday, 5 March 2018
Kick-Off at 19:30 UK
Venue: Audi Sportpark, Ingolstadt
The number of teams which are still hoping to end the current 2 Bundesliga campaign in top 3 spots is way too high. The gap from 3rd placed Holstein Kiel and 11th ranked team Heidenheim is only seven points, which means one series of three or four straight wins would cause massive changes on the standings. Ingolstadt’s fans were expecting much more from their team in 2018, but most recent losses to MSV Duisburg and St Pauli pushed them far away from the playoffs spot. Gap could be narrowed with a potential home win against Bochum on Monday night, but visitors are going to be heavily motivated to win points as well.
Bochum are currently 16th on the table, having only 27 points on their account. If they don’t make any progress, that means playout matches against a team from tier three division. This squad holds the negative record in the division at the moment – they scored only 20 goals in 24 matches, which makes them the least efficienct team. 16 of 24 matches ended with two or less goals total, which can be useful info for the goals market.
Ingolstadt are not having such troubles. Offensive duo of Kittel and Lezcano bagged 14 goals total, so you might consider backing any of these two in the goal scorers market.
The last two head to head clashes between these two teams were won by Bochum, but a lot of things have changed since then. The most recent one took place in late September 2017 (2-0 FT).
Ingolstadt have lost only one game to Bochum in history, while having high 80% win rate.
I don’t think that last two defeats for Ingolstadt were a coincidence. Form is on a heavy decline, while Bochum are trying to avoid relegation at all cost. I am backing draw or away win at decent 2.15 price. Also, for the goals market, stats say that “2 or 3 goals” is the best tip.
