Peru have shown strength by producing an outstanding effort in the 2-0 victory over Croatia on the US soil on Tuesday evening. The Incas will be hoping to repeat such a display and further boost up their confidence on Tuesday evening when they are to play Croatian’s group rivals at the upcoming World Cup, Iceland.

Ricardo Gareca was thrilled with his team’s super impressive showing in the clash with the star-studded Croatian squad. Peru are thus currently enjoying their best football days in a while as they have booked their spot at the World Cup for the first time since 1986 (fifth time in their history). Gareca’s men have been enjoying a stellar form in the very finish of the South American WC Qualification campaign inning three and drawing two of last five matches there.

Iceland’s football team has also experienced a true renaissance over the last couple of years. They have made the quarterfinal at the previous edition of European Championship and this summer’s World Cup will be their maiden appearance on the biggest stage. However, we must mention that Heimir Hallgrimsson has huge troubles with the list of injured players ahead of this match with Peru. Iceland will be without two of their best players Gylfi Sigurdsson and Alfred Finnbogason (both injured). This is, after all, what caused the demolishing 3-0 defeat to Mexico in Friday’s friendly at Levi’s Stadium in California.

Iceland vs Peru: Head-to-head

This will be the first ever head to head encounter between Iceland and Peru.

Iceland vs Peru: Prediction

Even though the bookies consider it a close affair, we do see Peru as massive favourites to back up the magnificent display against Croatia and grab another victory over injury-crippled Iceland side here.

Peru will also have a huge support from the stands (just as they did days ago against Croatia), and we truly do expect them to be in full control of things from the very first minute here.

Braver punters can try with Peru to have the lead at the half time and win the match at the end at the odds of 4.50.
