Hull City found it rough in their first game after the relegation. Now they are playing Burton Albion at home and will be looking to take some points.
Hull got relegated last year and went through some changes. The obvious expectation are for a swift return to the English top tier football. The team opened their season with a tough away fixture. The Tigers visited the home of another promotion candidate Aston Villa. Villa started the game well. Their pace proved to be too much for Hull defensive line and Villa opened up the score.
Elmohammady and Hutton made a pacey one two on the right wing and delivered a cross in the box. Hull defenders were occupied by the main striker and left Agbonlahor charging late into the box unmarked. Villa continued to be the better side until the half time but Hull prevented them from scoring second. The second half was something different. The Tiger put up a far better display while the Villans looked tired. A pacey attack this time with Hull taking the ball saw Fraizor Campbell bursting through the middle. Grosicki then received the ball on the right who delivered it into the box for Bowen to hit it on the volley. Hull had a few more chances till the end of the game but failed to convert them.
Burton survived last year by a very small margin. They didn’t improve much in the summer and the bookies are tipping them for relegation this year. They are a tough nut to break but mainly at home. The brewers may be a bit tired compared to Hull as they played a midweek fixture. They barely won against Oldham with 3-2 in the League Cup which just exhausted the team and may prove costly against a strong opponent like Hull.
The opening round Burton proved once again that they are not to be underestimated at home. The team played against Cardiff and it was just a matter of moment of brilliance from Zohore that decided the game. Burton were doing a good job at the back giving little to no space for Cardiff attacks. But in the end Zohore curled a wonderful shot with his left foot past the keeper in the 86th minute to give Cardiff all the points. These are the game on which Burton will be heavily dependent to earn points.
Hull City vs Burton Albion: Head to head
The head to head comparison is very irrelevant in this case as the teams rarely met in a competitive game in the current century. Hull had 3 wins and a draw in the early years of the previous century.
Hull City vs Burton Albion: Prediction
The Tigers are hungry for points. They stood up against a very strong opposition like Aston Villa and now will be looking to get all the points. The huge favourites here are Hull City.
Backing Abel Hernandez to score anytime is worth the shot. He will lead the line in a game which Hull are expected to score.
