Hearts vs Newcastle United
International Club Friendlies
Date: Friday, 14th July 2017
Kick off at 19:45 UK/ 20:45 CET
Venue: Tynecastle Stadium.
The new Premier League outfit Newcastle United is set to open kick off their pre-season schedule this Friday with the visit to Tynecastle Stadium and the friendly clash with Scottish Hearts.
The hosts should be in a better competitive form as they have already featured three games including wins over Livingston and Linfield and the loss to St. Patrick’s Athl. in the meantime.
Ian Cathro remained on the bench in spite of having a modest campaign in the last term of Premiership where Hearts were nowhere near Celtic, Aberdeen and Rangers in the contest for the top three positions.
The team saw plenty of changes in comparison to the last season and it will be very interesting to see how Cathro will line the new acquisitions up at the start of the season.
The Magpies will come into the new season stronger for Floriane Lejeune (€8.5m move from Osasuna), Siem de Jong, and Henri Saivet, but none of the mentioned likes is about to feature the first friendly of the season.
Rafa Benitez will use familiar faces most likely starting with Daryl Murphy and Aleksandar Mitrovic in the final third.
Anyhow, we should not question players’ motivation since the battle for the starting XI will be huge ahead of the Premier League season.
Hearts vs Newcastle United: Head to head
Interestingly, the two sides have never previously met each other.
Hearts vs Newcastle United: Prediction
The Magpies have more quality in their squad without doubts, but the Scots started their preparation period much earlier and they should be in a much better physical condition.
We don’t expect to enjoy the beauty of the game since it is still the early stage of the pre-season and we would not be surprised to even see a goalless draw at the end of this one.
Hearts vs Newcastle United: Bet Tips
The first bet will be Under 2.5 goals FT at the odds of 17/20.
The alternative bet will be the draw at 9/4.
