Hearts vs Celtic
Scotland – Premiership
Date: Sunday, 6 May 2018
Kick-Off at 12:15 UK
Venue: Tynecastle Stadium (Edinburgh)
Celtic travel to Edinburgh for their Matchday 3 clash against Hearts after celebrating another Premiership title in a row on the back of a thrashing 5-0 win over fierce rivals Rangers, hoping to build on such a performance and take revenge for a 4-0 loss suffered on their last trip to Tynecastle.
Hoops have thus bagged their third win in four outings and suffered just a 2-1 loss at Hibernian in the process, only postponing the celebrations as they top the league table. They’ve been in fine form and Brendan Rodgers’ men come into the contest as heavy favourites to win, seeing Hearts’ recent spell of form.
Hearts come into the match after suffering two losses in a row, beaten by both Rangers (2-1) and Aberdeen (2-0) since late April. However, they’ve been a much better side at this ground and boast a seven-game unbeaten streak, bagging five wins and two draws along the way. We thus feel they’ll be confident and have high hopes of their own.
Hearts vs Celtic: Head-to-head
Hearts have beaten Celtic 4-0 in their last clash here, midway through December.
This was their only win over the rivals since 2012.
Celtic have taken revenge at home, beating the rivals 3-1 in January and earning their eighth win in nine head-to-head clashes.
Hearts vs Celtic: Prediction
We do believe Hearts can build on their fine home records, though, and capitalize on the rivals’ inconsistency on the road as we back a Double Chance – Home win or a Draw at 3.75. This does seem great value seeing we’ve come to get used to fine displays at Tynecastle Stadium.
With no high stakes involved, we do expect an attacking approach to the game on both ends and this should result in an exciting contest. With that in mind, we’ll now also back a YES on Both teams to score, which comes at a good-looking 2.37.
