Haugesund vs Tromso
Norway – Eliteserien
Date: Sunday, 2nd July 2017
Kick off at 17:00 UK/ 18:00 CET
Venue: Haugesund Stadion.
Tromso barely managed to save the elite class status last year. Avoiding the relegation in this term of Eliteserien will require a serious turnaround in form in the second part of the season since they currently don’t seem to have what it takes to stay competitive in the top flight of the Norwegian football.
The visitors will have a very tough task to escape the danger area this weekend when they travel to Haugesund to take on one of the contenders for the top half of the standings at the end of the season.
The Arabs have significantly improved their defensive displays over the last couple of weeks.
The team led by Eirik Horneland allowed no more than a single goal in last four league fixtures. The rock-solid defense is the main reason for the run of three consecutive wins in all competitions prior to the last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Viking away from home.
The story is completely opposite with Tromso who have been very easy to break down and who have conceded as many as 12 goals in last four league matches.
Bard Flovik could, however, be satisfied with the 1-1 draw with Sandefjord which ended a horrific streak of three convincing losses to the likes of Lillestrom, Valerenga and Molde.
Haugesund vs Tromso: Head to head
Interestingly, Tromso have been one of the most unpleasant rivals for Haugesund over the history.
The Arabs picked up no more than two wins in 20 H2H meetings with Tromso who lead the tie by as many as ten victories.
However, the previous encounter between the two sides saw a 2-1 victory for Haugesund in mid August last year.
Haugesund vs Tromso: Prediction
Even though the head to head stats completely favour the visiting team, everything else in on Haugesund’s side and we will back the hosts to claim three points and keep on with the climb up the Eliteserien ladder.
The home win is well worth taking with higher stakes at the odds of 10/11.
