Haugesund and Molde are going to face each other in the second round of Norwegian Eliteserien on Sunday afternoon. Both sides want to have the good start of the season and try to generate a positive momentum.
The hosts managed to get back home with a win form the opening clash of the season against Odd. Eirik Horneland’s side wants to challenge one of the places for European competitions and they are searching for the winning streak at the beginning of the campaign. Their finish in the last one was awful, they’ve booked five straight defeats and dropped to the 10th position. They were playing very good at home until that point, after which they’ve tied three losses. Although Haugesund were well-known of their open style of play, last season we weren’t able to see many goals in their matches. Hopefully, the opening one may indicate that they’ve returned to their typical game.
Molde showed a tremendous display in the opening round when they’ve outclassed Sandefjord in a 5-0 victory in front of home fans. It seems that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s guys are ready for challenging the title after finishing as the runners-up in the previous campaign. They were very efficient last time and they picked up where they left off. The visitors have put excellent away displays in the last season and they’ve suffered only four defeats on away grounds. They are more than capable of putting the serious title bid this season.

In their head to head clashes, the visitors were the ones which were taking points home more often. Haugesund celebrated their latest win in 2015, while Molde managed to defeat their opponents two times in a row. Their last four clashes were very inefficient and all of them stayed under 2.5 margin.

Although this should be a tight clash, the visitors showed that they want to put themselves into commanding position from the very start of the season and they should be able to take all three points from this one.
