Hannover 96 vs Werder Bremen
Germany – Bundesliga
Date: Friday, 6 April 2018
Kick-Off at 19:30 UK
Venue: HDI-Arena (Hannover).
Hannover 96 and Werder Bremen will head into the Matchday opener in completely opposite moods. The hosts will be desperate to arrest the current slump in form and avoid a defeat for the first time in six games. Die Werderaner, on the other side, come into this with three consecutive wins under their belts.
Andre Breitenreiter’s men have lost five on the bounce amid a rather complicated schedule. Four of these losses were only by a single goal margin, including the one form six days ago when RB Leipzig notched a 2-3 win at HDI-Arena. The head coach was furious with his team’s back line which has made some unrecognizable mistakes in the first half.
The hosts will need to be super careful given they are about to come face to face with the red-hot attacking line of Werder’s. The visitors have bagged eight in three straight wins over Koln, Augsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt. Such fine form has not only moved Die Werderaner out of the relegation scrap, but they are now only two points away from the eighth-placed Stuttgart.
Nonetheless, we must not forget that Hannover can be a tricky opposition in front of their fans, especially on their day. Werder are far from clear favourites here in spite of such form.
Werder Bremen have been the dominant side in the history of this match-up.
Die Werderaner have won two on the bounce against Hannover 96 netting as many as eight in the process.
Six if last eight H2H clashes have seen both teams on the scoresheet.
The BTTS looks to be a banker bet and we’ll back it with higher stakes at the 1.66 odds. Werder have been playing attacking football under Florian Kohfelfdt lately and we just can’t see a low-scoring contest here.
Hannover look to be underestimated here and we do find a huge value in backing the home win & BTTS at the sky-high 5.50 odds.
Over 2.5 goals FT & BTTS @ 2.10
