Hamburger SV vs Hertha BSC
Germany – Bundesliga
Date: Saturday, 17 March 2018
Kick-Off at 14:30 UK
Venue: Volksparkstadion (Hamburg).
Hamburger SV have barely managed to save the top flight status in the last couple of years and it seems that the time has come for them to leave the elite for the first time in team’s history. HSV have had a dreadful campaign in this tern of Bundesliga and they are currently seven points shy of the relegation playoffs spot, meaning this Hertha’s visit is definitely the last train to catch for the Red Shorts.
The owners have decided to make the final move parting ways with Bernd Hollerbach. Christian Titz will be the man who’ll try and save the league’s giants in the top flight, but he will need a miracle to do so given that there is just nothing suggesting a possible renaissance in the final quarter of the season at Volksparkstadion.
The rare good news for the hosts is that their counterparts have been struggling badly to find the back of the net lately. The Old Lady have done so in last four league fixtures and they will travel to Hamburg low on confidence after making a decent start to the year.
The hosts have also been poor in the final third recently netting just once in last five league matches. At home, Hamburger SV have lost three and drawn three of last six games.
The home win would see the H2H statistics locked at 29 victories for each of the teams.
Interestingly, only one of last nine H2H meetings has seen the BTTS pick “land”.
Hamburger have won 20 and lost only 6 of 35 home meetings with the Old Lady.
The match has a massive importance for the hosts who won’t have many chances to grab the survival lifeline until the end of the season.
We expect a tight affair with very few goal-scoring chances at both ends and backing the Under 2.5 goals FT bet looks to be the safest of the options at the odds of 1.50.
Also, since Hertha BSC have not scored a single goal in last four league matches, we will alternatively take Hamburger SV to keep a clean sheet at the odds of 2.62.
Under 2.5 goals FT @ 1.50
Hamburger SV to keep a clean sheet @ 2.62
