Hacken vs Hammarby:
Date: Saturday, July 9, 2016
Kick-Off: 15:00 UK
Venue: Bravida Arena (Goteborg).
Bollklubben Hacken resume their Swedish Allsvenskan campaign after a month’s break as they host relegation candidates Hammarby at the Bravida Arena on Saturday afternoon.
Hacken made a terrible start to the season by losing 6 of their first 8 games. But they recovered brilliantly by winning 3 of the next 4 fixtures. They are unbeaten in the last 4 league games and are currently 8th in the standings with 16 points from 12 games. Head-coach Peter Gerhardsson will be hoping to carry over the fine momentum they had towards the end of May against a rejuvenated Hammarby on Saturday.
Hammarby on the other hand are 14th in the 16 team table. They went on to the break with a 3-1 win at home over bottom placed side Gefle in the last week of May. But had won just 3 games all season. The win against Gefle was their first in 8 matches and a couple of good results in the coming weeks could lift them up to the middle of the table. Their away form is particularly bad and suffered defeats in 4 of 6 games on the road so far this season.

- These two sides share 4 wins each from the last 17 meetings in all competitions, with 9 matches ending in draw.
- At home, Hacken have managed to beat Hammarby just twice in the last 8 meetings, losing 1 and drawing the other 5.
- The teams had already met once this year, in the Swedish Cup, Hacken winning 3-2 away at Hammarby in a high scoring thriller.
- Hacken are unbeaten in the last three home games against Hammarby, with 1 win and 2 draws.
Hacken vs Hammarby: Predictions
Hacken scored an incredible 14 goals in their last 4 home games and are a big threat from quick counter attacks. While Hammarby are also not goal shy, but they have plenty of issues in their defense. Even though I expect both managers to adopt a conservative approach in this game, I believe goals will be in plenty. So I will be backing both sides to score and expect to see over 2.5 goals in this game.
The majority of games between these two sides had ended in draws and I won’t be comfortable in backing either sides for a win. Considering the good form of Hacken and their goal scoring prowess, my preferred pick will be a double chance for the home side to avoid a defeat here.
- Over 2.5 goals
- Double Chance: Hacken/Draw
- Both Teams to Score
- Over 0.5 goals at HT.
