Guyana vs Panama
CONCACAF Gold Cup
Date: Saturday, June 22nd 2019
Kick off at 22:30 UK / 23:30 CET
Venue: FirstEnergy Stadium (Cleveland).
Despite suffering back to back defeats at the hands of Uruguay and Colombia, Panama bounced back to winning ways in convincing fashion by clinching the victory in their opening clash against Trinidad and Tobago. Julio Dely Valdes’s side will be looking to record their second successive win when they lock horns with Guyana on Saturday at the FirstEnergy Stadium, for their second round of group fixtures in the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
The latter were thrashed by USA in their opening fixture, conceding four goals and failing to find even a single consolation goal in the span of ninety minutes. They managed just one shot on target throughout the game and had given away the majority of the possession to the Americans as well.
In comparison, Los Canaleros fared a lot better in their own opening encounter against Trinidad and Tobago. Despite both teams failing to break the deadlock before the interval, Roman Torres’s side started the match on a much stronger foot and took the lead in the first ten minutes. The squad soon doubled the lead in the next ten, ensuring them the three points at the end of final whistle.
After the clash on Saturday, they will take on USA in the third round of group fixtures while their opponents will be squaring up against Trinidad and Tobago.

Guyana vs Panama Prediction
Panama are likely to come out on top when the two teams meet on Saturday. They managed to clinch the win in their previous encounter and can be expected to continue their run of form into their upcoming matches.
Their opponents, on the other hand, have been struggling to find a win in any of their previous three matches. They suffered a 3-1 loss to Haiti and a 1-0 loss to Bermuda before opening their Gold Cup campaign with a 4-0 whopping at the hands of Americans.
It’s fairly obvious from their previous results that Michael Johnson’s side have been dismal in both attack and defense. They have conceded a total of eight goals in their previous three matches and have managed to retaliate with just one.
The team are likely to hit rock bottom in the group if they fail to turn the tables around in their upcoming fixture.
Julio Dely Valdes’s men certainly look poised to take the win, which they will, as long as they put on a performance similar to their previous match. The clash is unlikely to be a high scoring one either, with Panama likely to record a second straight clean sheet as well.
