The group D games of the AFCON 2017 will Kickstart on Tuesday, Ghana will be taking on Uganda at Stade de Port Gentil.
Ghana finished the last edition of the tournament as the runners up as they lost to Ivory Coast in the finals. Ghana has always gone far in recent AFCON competitions as they have reached semifinals in the last editions.
Ghana qualified for this tournament after a superb performance during the qualifying campaign. They were able to win 4 games and drew 2 games to enable them qualify foe the tournament. However they haven’t been good in their recent games, having drawn with Uganda in WCQ and lost 2-0 to Egypt.
Uganda have been missing in AFCON competitions since 1978 which they were runners up. They qualified for this edition as runners up behind Burkina Faso as they won 4 games, drew 1 and lost 1. The fans will be hoping to see their country reach the finals again.
