Georgia and Malta are going to take on each other in the non-popular international friendly on Friday evening on the neutral venue of the Silberstadt Arena Schwaz in the Austrian state of Tyrol. Both teams will head into the game with an improved confidence.
Georgia clinched impressive back-to-back wins over Lithuania and Estonia without conceding a goal in the process. They won three and drew one of last four friendlies. The head coach is a familiar name, Vladimir Weiss, who had previously successfully led his native country Slovakia.
Looking at results, Malta look to be struggling badly with the form, but huge improvements were noticed on Tuesday evening when they held Armenia to a 1-1 draw, also on the Austrian soil. The team thus ended the poor streak of four consecutive defeats which saw them score no goals at all along the way.
