Genoa vs Udinese: Prediction
After beating Brescia 3-1, Thiago Motta’s men were seconds away from claiming a point at Allianz Stadium, but Cristano Ronaldo’s late penalty kept Juventus at the top. Genoa are looking better under new coach and Christian Kouame regained his confidence in front of goal. With two wins, two draws and six losses, the Rossoblu’s are 17th in the Serie A standings, point above the relegation zone.
Favilli, Pajac, Criscito and Sturaro are injured, Cassata and Marchetti are suspended and Lerager is questionable for this one.
After allowing just six goals in eight games (the best defensive record in the league at the time), Udinese went on to concede 11 against Atalanta (1-7) and Roma (0-4). Igor Tudor’s men failed to capitalize on man advantage and even allowed the Giallorossi to bag three more goals in the second half. Following their second defeat on the trot, Zebrette dropped to 14th position with the win-draw-loss record of 3-1-6.
Everyone bar Stryger Larsen are fit, but midfielder Mato Jajalo will miss the trip due to yellow-cards accumulation.
The Rossoblu’s have 2-1-2 record at Marassi with an average of 1.40 goals scored per bout, whilst conceding 1.20. Overall, they have an average of 3.60 goals on their games this season. Motta will probably opt for 4-2-3-1 yet again with Pinamonti as a lone striker.
Udinese have 0-1-3 record away from Friuli. The Zebrette have scored just one goal on the road so far, whilst conceding 2.25 goals per match.
The guests are just dreadful at the moment, Igor Tudor is on a very thin ice and Genoa should take advantage of that. They looked sharp and determined against Brescia and I’m confident they can claim a victory in their backyard.
I will also back Christian Kouame to score anytime. The Ivorian striker has bagged two goals in last two games for the club.
