Genoa vs Napoli
Italian Serie A.
Date: Saturday 10 November 2018
Kick-Off: 19:30 UK,
Venue: Stadio Luigi Ferraris (Genoa).
Napoli will look to continue chasing Juventus in the Scudetto race as they travel to face struggling Genoa on Saturday. The Grifone have been in really bad form lately and oddly decided to fire Davide Ballardini and brought back Ivan Juric, which has not brought them better fortunes. Juric, unfortunately has gone four games sans a victory and could be already heading for an early exit. They lost 2-1 to AC Milan and then suffered a 5-0 humiliating loss to Milan’s cross town rivals Inter ahead of this game.
Even more worrying is the fact that their new signing Krzysztof Piatek has stopped scoring as of late. After bursting out of the gates with nine goals, he has yet to find the net since Juric took over, and the Croatian tactician has failed to get the best out of him and overall the team have really struggled as a result as well.
Meanwhile, Napoli have again regained top spot in their tough Champions League quartet thanks to a 1-1 draw with PSG. They were also helped with Liverpool suffering a shock 2-0 loss to bottom placed Red Star Belgrade and Carlo Ancelotti’s side will hope to further close the six point gap on Juventus, who will lock horns with AC Milan on Sunday.
A victory, of course, for Napoli will cut that to three ahead of La Vecchia Signora’s trip to the Stadio San Siro and whilst the Scudetto is really looking like it’s going to be again in Juve’s hands in May, Napoli are going to be really determined to push them once again. That being said, they clearly are not going to put all their eggs in one basket and seem to be taking the Champions League a lot more seriously this term.
Suffice it to say, this game couldn’t have come at a better time for Napoli, who have an excellent record against Genoa. Will they take advantage of the Grifone’s poor form to pick up another three points?

Genoa vs Napoli: Prediction
Under Ancelotti, Napoli seem to be effectively rotating their squad and things appear to be paying off. They cruised to a 5-1 win over Empoli last round and certainly should have no problems earning another comfortable win over a Genoa side who have been absolutely disappointing under Juric’s tenure. Yes, there was that 1-1 draw with Juventus in Turin – which arguably was the highlight since he took over, but any good feelings have since evaporated after back to back losses to AC Milan and Inter in which they conceded seven goals.
