After Clubs playing their respective European League Competitions in midweek, they return to their various countries to continue the league season.
In what seem like Super Sunday crucial fixtures, We look at Five games to watch out for across Europe thus Premier League,FA Cup, Serie A and La Liga this weekend.
What to Expect this weekend across European crucial games:
Man United x Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday Afternoon
For Man United sitting at home to welcome Arsenal, they are keen on keeping their special home record against the Gunners this weekend despite observing inconsistent performances both domestic and Europe.
The Gunners look a bit okay domestically because at least their on course to jostling for the title with just two points behind leaders Leicester City but they lost a painful 2-0 at home to World Club champions Barcelona before this game.
United hold an unbeaten six home wins in eight games against Arsenal with two draws (W6 L0 D2). The Red Devils came back from a 2-1 lost at Midtjylland to a 5-1 win on Thusrday at Old Tarfford to sealed through to the next round of th Europa League but have picked just a point in possible six in the League prior to this game.
While Arsenal just ended United’s eight League wins against them with 3-0 at Emirates last year. The Gunners are going into this game with goalless draw to Hull City and 2-0 lost to Barca and United have enjoyed two consecutive victories over Shrewsbury Town and FC Midtjylland.
Man United look good at home and are brimming with confidence in front of their crowds and its a game which gives Arsenal a head to carry but dicey for the Gunners to win convincingly, Arsenal must tasked themselves to win this game to appease their fans but I see a 2-2 draw on Sunday.
The Madrid Derby – Real Madrid x Atletico Madrid at Satiago Benabeu on Sturday.
Zinadine Zidane will seek for his first Madrid derby victory as a manager, Real Madrid’s performance have been good both domestic and European front.
Athletico Madrid look set to bounce back from their two consecutive draws in all competitions, Real Madrid have had four wins and a draw in their last five games (D1 L0 W4) and Athletico Madrid have been inconsistent in last five games with two draws, two wins and a lost (D2 L1 W2).
The last five meetings between them have been one win and three draws among themselves in all competitions but Real Madrid have failed to disappoint their fans in home games which is a bit different from Atletico Madrid.
Diego Simeone’s side are third on the table just a point below Real Madrid and for them to catch up on Barcelona’s ten points gap and keep title hopes alive, a win at the Bernabueu could help them out but it’s will be difficult for Madrid to see a lost at home-following good performances. Prediction 3-2.
Capital One Cup Final – Liverpool x Man City at Wembley on Sunday
Who carries the day Liverpool or Man City? Jurgen Klopp would be heralded if he manages to give Liverpool a trophy to end their trophless drought on Sunday.
Liverpool record against Man City looks positive because last five meetings between these two sides is (L1 D1 W3) in favour of the Reds with very good atmosphere. What Liverpool fans are looking for is yet to come true but Man City are on equal par to pull a threat especially coming from 3-1 win over Dynamo Kyiv in Ukraine.
This game looks set to go either way but it will only take a side with positive play and I think a slim 1-0 win for Liverpool might be the outcome.
Barcelona x Sevilla at Camp Nou on Sunday
After coming from a 2-0 win trip from the Emirates stadium, the Catalans believe extending their unbeaten record to 34 is the hall mark, Barcelona are boasting of attacking trio (Neymar, Suarez and Messi) who have recorded 93 goals among themselves.
Sevilla’s season have not been inspiring their last five games produced two wins, two draws and a lost (D2 W2 L1). Barcelona’s record against Sevilla in the last five games in all competitions have gone their favour with three wins, one draw and a lost.
Sevilla won 2-1 against Barcelona last October at home and if they can build on that mentality they produce a good results. But in mine opinion Barcelona stands a better chance of wining on Sunday with 4-2.
Juventus x Inter Milan at Juventus Stadium on Sunday
Juventus are still unbeaten for 15 games in all competitions and they look very set to clinch the Serie A trophy as they lead the table with 58 points while Inter Milan are fifth position with 48- ten points behind Juventus.
It’s been a while Milan have qualify for the Champions League so they do not have many competitions as compared to Juventus. Juventus’ last five games saw three wins and two draws (W3 D2 L0) while Milan’s last five games have been three lost, one draw and a win (L3 D1 W1).
With how Milan have performed domestically Juventus have the upper hand and am convinced Juventus will extend their unbeaten run in the Serie A with 3-1.
