Fiorentina vs Juventus
Italy – Serie A
Date: Saturday, 14 September 2019
Kick-off at 14:00 UK / 15:00 CET
Venue: Stadio Artemio Franchi (Florence).
Fiorentina suffered another league loss before the international break and their winless streak in Serie A is now extended to sixteen games. They will host the perpetual Scudetto winners Juventus in the 3rd round of the competition and Vicenco Montella is likely to hand a debut to deadline day signings, Pedro (Fluminense) and Ghezzal (Leicester City) at some point.
It seems like Fiorentina finally got their hitman, but they should be worried about defensive end as well after conceding six vs Napoli and Genoa.
Juventus maintained their perfect start to the season after beating Napoli 4-3 at Allianz Stadium. We have seen a lot of positives and negatives in their performance. A fluid, refreshing football in the first half and a shocking defending, particularly from De Ligt, in the second, that allowed Napoli to score three. In the end, guests were unlucky to score an own goal and lose hard-earned point.
Popular ‘Sarriball’ is quite different to anything that Juve played in the past, and it will take some time for players to fully adapt so I wouldn’t rule out thrillers like this in the near future.

Fiorentina vs Juventus: Prediction
This should be an exciting game with goals on both ends. Fiorentina have scored three against Napoli in season opener and I’m confident they will get on the score sheet on Saturday as well, even with Pedro projected to start off the bench.
Juventus’ attacking approach leaves defence exposed, and De Ligt and Bonucci appear to be out of sync at the moment. However, with Cristiano Ronaldo–who scored five goals for Portugal last week– up-front, we can count on Juve to match that and probably add a few more.
The stars have aligned for Douglas Costa to have a fantastic season. Maurizio Sarri’s brand of football suits the Brazilian and he looked immense against Napoli with two assits. He plays with freedom and confidence and I got a feeling he can score here.
