Fiorentina vs Atalanta: Match Preview
Fiorentina’s five-game unbeaten run across competitions, which included three wins – including a 2-1 Coppa Italia victory over Atalanta, came to an end as they fell to a 0-3 defeat at the hands of league leaders, Juventus.
With an underwhelming win-draw-lose record of 6-7-9, Beppe Iachini’s side are currently fourteenth, five points off of the Europa League spot. New-look Viola will be hoping to rekindle their January form when they take on La Dea yet again.
The Saturday’s hosts have recorded three wins, four draws and four losses at this venue, averaging a goal scored per bout and conceding 1.27 in return. Fiorentina have gained five points from ther last five home games (1W, 2D, 2L).
The Bergamese will be seeking revenge when they make the trip to Florence, a little over three weeks on from their Coppa Italia defeat at the Artemio Franchi.
Atalanta failed to build on the historic 7-0 win at Torino as they played out a disappointing 2-2 draw with relegation-threatened Genoa. Gian Piero Gasperini’s men have collected eleven points from their last six league matches, scoring a staggering 21 goals in the process.
The team is currently sitting at fourth, ahead of Paulo Fonseca’s Roma on goal difference and sevne points clear of Cagliari, Parma and AC Milan.
La Dea are boasting the third-best away record in the competition, winning 22 points from a possible 33 and scoring an impressive 2.55 goals per match, whilst shipping 1.09.

Fiorentina vs Atalanta: Prediction
The visiting side will be hoping to put an end to an atrocious, winless run at the Artemio Franchi. However, with their mixed results of late, I would rather pick goals – on both ends.
Fiorentina have upped their game and I’m confident they will get on the scoresheet on Saturday, whilst Atalanta are pretty much guaranteed to net. They have scored in 91 percent of their away games.
As for my second bet, I’ll go with a Draw. Three of their last five outings at this venue failed to produce a winner, and the two sides played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at Ennio Tardini earlier in the season. Let’s hope for another exciting stalemate.
