Feyenoord vs Utrecht
Date: Sunday, 18 August 2019
Kick-off at 15:45 UK/ 16:45 CET
Venue: De Kuip (Rotterdam).
Not the best of starts for Feyenoord under new manager Jaap Stam. They just came back from Georgia where they faced Dinamo Tbilsi in the return leg of the Europa League Qualifers. Despite 4-0 lead on aggregate, Stam decided not to rotate his team in a rematch that ended 1-1. Feye are still winless in Eredivisie after sharing spoils with both Sparta and Heerenveen.
Utrecht doesn’t have to worry about Europa League anymore after embarrassing loss to Zrinjski. However, their reaction was quick and strong. Jon van der Brom’s men have pulled of not one, but two comebacks in first two rounds of Eredivisie and now they’re sharing the top with AZ Alkmaar with 100% record.
Feyenoord vs Utrecht: Head to Head
It’s no surprise that Feye is a dominant side in this H2H duel with 33 wins in 55 games. At home, they have 22 wins out of 29 matches played, and scoring 2.2 goals per game.
Feyenoord have won last six home games vs Utrecht – including two last season’s meetings, as they met in the Cup as well.
We have seen four under 2.5 in last six games between these two.
Feyenoord vs Utrecht: Prediction
Head to Head strongly supports a Home Win, but I have serious trust issues with this team. Feye is going through a mild transition right now and they should work things out eventually, but as it stands, I can’t back them up against an improved Utrecht team, so I’ll focus on goals.
Guests are scoring with ease, but it seems they need to concede first to get it going. Unlike Feye, Utrecht players have accepted a new coach, embraced his ideas and we should see some of that van der Brom’s football at De Kuip on Sunday.
My first pick will be Both Teams to Score – Yes and I’m super confident in that one. As an alternative, I’ll go with over 1.5 goals in the 2nd half.
Feyenoord vs Utrecht: Bet Tips
Both Teams to Score – Yes @ 1.60 (3/5).
2nd Half Goals – Over 1.5 @ 1.75 (3/4).
