EURO 2020 Qualification
Date: Monday, 10th June 2019
Kick-off at 19.45 UK/ 20.45 CET
Venue: Tórsvøllur (Torshavn).
After Round 2, both Norway and Faroe Islands find themselves at the bottom of Group F. With Spain and Sweden in the same group, it’d be hoping too much to qualify, but a total of ten matches present some opportunity to take advantage of.
Faroe Islands have so far been the whipping boys of the group. They lost both their ties, and have not posted a point on the table yet.
Against Romania, on the road, the team was taken apart. By the 33rd minute itself, the hosts raced to a 3-0 lead. While it’s true that Faroe tried to make a comeback, and scored a goal in the 40th minute, their resistance was put down by the home team with some effective defense, and an additional goal.
Visitors Norway had one of the most thrilling games in the whole competition, against Sweden. A goal apiece in each of the halves saw them leading 2-0 at the 70-minute mark, but in the space of 20 minutes, Sweden, the guests scored three goals to turn around the match in their favor.
But right at the end of the tie, literally in the last shot of the game, in the 90+7th minute, the hosts scored the equalizer sending the crowd into a frenzy.
Their game against Spain saw them almost causing an upset after scores were equalized by Norway in the 65th minute, but ever the savior, Sergio Ramos, chipped in with a penalty to settle the tie in the home team’s favor.

Faroe Islands vs Norway Prediction
Norway will have to take advantage of their tie against the minnows of the group. They had the misfortune to start against the two best teams of the lot, Spain and Sweden, and it has painted a grossly unfair picture about the form of the squad.
Faroe is winless in their last seven fixtures and lost five of them as well. The team conceded two or more goals in these five matches too. Norway, on the other hand, was unbeaten in ten of their last twelve match-ups, and on the road, they avoided a loss in four of their last six ties as well.
Norway will have their confidence up even though they failed to post a win in the tournament so far. They snatched a draw against Sweden right at the end of the tie, and against former champions Spain, they almost delivered an upset draw. After two close games, Norway will be finally ready to post their maiden three points on the board.
