Chelsea and Spain international midfielder Cecs Fabregas has come out to say that he nearly penned a deal with Real Madrid before moving to Chelsea.
The 28-year-old Fabregas, signed five years contract with Chelsea in 2014 after three years stay at Barcelona. The Spain international disclosed that talks were held with the Los Blancos representatives but the deal failed to materialize.
“Well, there was contact with different presidents over the space of several years, but no deal was ever struck.
“We discussed terms, but nothing final was ever agreed. That decisive step was never taken, ” Fabregas revealed to Marca.
Fabregas’ current club (Chelsea) have enjoyed a torrid campaign to the Premier League season recording just three wins, lost seven out of 12 league outings and they are pegged 16th on the league table with just three points above the relegation battle.
Chelsea will play home to Norwich City at home after the international break. The match is schedules on Saturday, 21st November 2015 at Stamford Bridge.
