Everton vs Manchester United Match Preview
Everton were defeated 3-2 on the road the last match-day, by Arsenal. The loss put an end to the five-game unbeaten run by the Toffees, and it also exposed some of the weakness of the Everton defense.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men have a total of 36 points on the board now, and are placed 11th in the table. However, they are just five points off a CL ticket, and with 11 more games remaining till the end of the season, the team surely does have a chance to make it into Europe’s premier competition.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils secured a dominating 3-0 win over Watford the prior game week, at Old Trafford. It was their sixth unbeaten match in a row, and was the fifth clean sheet from the prior six fixtures.
The game was a perfect example of the impact the arrival of Bruno Fernandes has made to the squad. He was literally dictating the play with mesmerizing runs and touches. After a long time, United have finally made a worthwhile signing.
Everton vs Manchester United Prediction
Everton found the back of the net in 19 of their last 22 match-ups, and scored twice or more in the previous four fixtures on the trot. They have also failed to score just thrice at home since March of last year, and remained unbeaten in 10 of their preceding 11 home appearances.
Meanwhile, United are on unbeaten streaks of six and four fixtures in overall and road games respectively. They have also scored a total of 14 goals from their prior four road trips.
Considering this form of both squads, along with the factors that the season is about to end, and the desperation of either team to make it into European spots – it’s adjudged that both teams will score goals this Sunday.
However, do understand that the Manchester outfit are higher in the table, are already in a CL spot, have been the dominant team in h2h clashes the last two decades, and have been performing much better ever since the news of Manchester City’s ban from the Champions League was announced.
By no means would they let this momentum go to waste, and will try their best to record a hard-fought win. Still, to be on the safe side, we will opt for the Double Chance on Manchester United.
