European giants in battle to sign Real Madrid full-back Dani Carvajal

Bundesliga Champions Bayern Munich are plotting for a move for Real Madrid right back Dani Carvajal to strengthen their squad ahead of next season.

But Bayern are not the only team that has been linked with Carvajal in the recent months. Big names like Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and PSG are also interested in acquiring his services.

It has been understood that the coaches at Bayern Munich see Dani Carvajal as a direct replacement for the 30 year old Brazilian right-back Rafinha whose contract with the Bavarians is set to expire at the end of the current season and a renewal is quite unlikely.

The 23-year old Carvajal has been a key player for Real Madrid since his arrival from Bayer Leverkusen in 2013. But the latest arrival of Danilo from Porto has ruled him out as an automatic first choice right back.

However, losing the starting spot with the Whites may prompt the defender to move in search of regular first team football.

Bayern are closely monitoring the situation and they will get an automatic boost if Danilo remains the first choice for Rafa Benitez in the crucial coming months.

The record German champions are keen to materialize on any opportunity available and are already working on a strategy to convince the Spanish international to switch alliance to Munich.

Several reports in Spanish media also quoted that Bayern had tried to sign him in the previous transfer window utilizing the arrival of Danilo, however the attempt end in a failure.

It would be an interesting battle once the transfer window opens back in the race for the right back whom Madrid values at 30 million euros.

At the same time, Chelsea may not wait till the end of the season. After watching the bad run of form of Ivanovic this season, the Chelsea hierarchy believes that Carvajal will be a perfect fit at the right back next season.

Meanwhile, speculations keep growing about the future of a host of their young players including the likes of Isco, Jese, Cheryshev and Nacho, who are all tipped to leave the club at the end of the season after finding first team opportunities hard to find at Madrid.
