The weekend witnessed the first English Premier League action of year 2016, as each team struggle to win while their players put in their best performance to impress.
Some teams outclassed their opponents like Chelsea did to Crystal Palace thanks to superb performance of the players, while some where held in a stalemate as Arthur Boruc of Bournemouth did his best to make sure Vardy and Mahrez was stopped.
Some players put in a better performance more than the others, l have selected a list of 5 best performed players based on statistics and rating and from there the player of the week shall emerge.

1. Wayne Rooney – Forward (Manchester United)
Wayne Rooney played both the role of a lone striker and an attacking midfielder against the Swans, he lead United in a pure class, showing the stuff he is made of. I’ve seen him score beautiful goals but this one he scored last weekend too stylish making it his 188th English Premier League goal. legend!!!
2. Diego Costa -Forward (Chelsea)
Diego Costa’s performance against Crystal Palace put a weird thought in my head, “his bad form during Mourinho’s era could be on purpose”, i must admit that i saw a different Costa at Selhurst Park, tearing down the defense line, provided an assist and sealed the Victory himself. What a Superb performance.
3. Mark Noble – Midfielder (West Ham)
Mark Noble played everything possible to ensure a win for his side, from tavkles to interception to aerial dwells and finally providing a beautiful assist for Andy Carroll’s goal, for me he was the most outstanding player last week.
4. Laurent Koscielny – Defender (Arsenal)
Laurent Kolscielny has formed the habit of scoring in difficult games and he did score the only goal that gave them a narrow win over the weekend thus extending their lead in the English Premier League table. He was Arsenal’s savior against Newcastle United.
5. Arthur Boruc – Goalkeeper (Bournemouth)
Arthur Boruc did his best to stop Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy from putting a goal past him, it is not easy to keep a clean sheet when playing against these two but he made it possible. The highlight of the game was saving Riyad Marez Penalty after the referee has misjudged and awarded a penalty wrongly. He was the Hero for Bournemouth.
My English Premier League player of the week goes to Mark Noble of WestHam as he out Performed all other contestants last week and i hope he keeps up the good work.
