Manchester United fans are getting extremely frustrated at their team’s performance under Louis Van Gaal this season. The Dutchman inturn has offered to step down after the 1-0 defeat against Southampton in their Premier League match in the weekend, only to be rejected by Ed Woodward.
The recent steps is another evidence of the dilemma for Mr. Woodward who knows like the rest of us what Van Gaal is doing at Old Trafford even when a change seems to be imminent at the end of the current season.
But despite allowing Van Gaal to stay in charge, Woodward has shortlisted eight potential candidates to save the club from a similar fate in future as Manchester United is currently heading for their worst finish in the league over a decade.
8. Ryan Giggs
A section of fans already wants to see the Welsh man in charge of affairs at the club eventually asking why the club is reluctant to take a step like Real Madrid did by appointing Zinedine Zidane.
A respected figure among the fans and dressing room during his playing career, the appointment comes at the risk of in-experience. But we expect to see him in charge on a temporary role before the end of the season.
